Referral / Intake Specialist

Weekend Position (Saturday & Sunday | 8-Hour Shifts)

Coverage Areas: Tucson, Phoenix, and Las Vegas

Dependable Health Services is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Referral / Intake Specialist to join our team for weekend coverage. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, enjoys coordination and problem-solving, and understands the importance of creating a smooth start to home health services.

As the first point of contact for referrals, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring patients are set up for success—from referral intake through clinician assignment.

What You’ll Do

• Process daily home health referrals and manage all aspects of the intake process in accordance with established policies

• Review and scrub referrals to ensure PDGM-appropriate diagnoses and documentation

• Verify insurance benefits and obtain initial authorizations to support timely admissions

• Coordinate patient needs and schedules with clinical staff to initiate the admission process

• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and ACHC referral and intake requirements

• Serve as a professional liaison with referral sources, responding promptly to questions and concerns

• Support seamless transitions into home care through coordination, education, and communication

• Maintain working knowledge of Dependable Health Services’ contracts and community resources

What We’re Looking For

• 3–5 years of healthcare experience, preferably in home health or intake operations

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Ability to work independently while staying highly organized and detail-focused

• Confident, flexible, and collaborative approach to daily responsibilities

• Bilingual skills are a plus
