Direct Care Worker Coordinator

Position Overview

The Direct Care Worker Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Direct Care Worker (DCW) Program personnel, ensuring proper training, competency, scheduling, and compensation. This role collaborates closely with clinical staff to provide appropriate supervision for DCWs and facilitates conferences with Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS) case management. Additionally, the Coordinator handles hiring, orientation, and counseling for DCWs.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Relationship Building:

    • Establish and maintain professional relationships with referral sources, case managers, and co-workers.
  • Scheduling & Communication:

    • Accurately track and manage DCW schedules and availability.
    • Communicate schedule changes promptly to DCWs.
  • Timekeeping & Payroll:

    • Review and ensure the timely submission and accuracy of DCW timesheets.
    • Perform accurate and timely payroll data entry to ensure proper compensation.
  • Oversight & Coordination:

    • Work with the Clinical Supervisor to assign staff and ensure appropriate in-home oversight of DCWs.
    • Maintain accurate client census and service authorizations.
    • Ensure all services provided adhere to authorization parameters.
  • Compliance & Recordkeeping:

    • Maintain detailed records of DCW training, testing, and competency.
    • Ensure compliance with all Direct Care Worker Training and Testing guidelines.
    • Submit the Non-Provision of Services Log to ALTCS/DDD in a timely manner.
  • On-Call Support:

    • Be available on an on-call basis outside normal business hours to address program needs.
  • Billing & Data Entry:

    • Support billing and care management through accurate data entry and timely processing.
  • Additional Duties:

    • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build professional relationships with staff, clients, and external partners.
  • Proven ability to manage scheduling, payroll processes, and compliance documentation.
  • Familiarity with ALTCS/DDD processes and Direct Care Worker guidelines is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and remain available for on-call support.
