Hospice Clinical Manager Assistant

The Hospice Clinical Manager Assistant is responsible for the daily administrative clinical operations of the hospice in collaboration with the Clinical Manager. The Clinical Manager Assistant will coordinate the IDG schedules, monitor documentation and clinical productivity, participate in the morning stand-up calls, and monitor quality metrics.

The Clinical Manager Assistant will ensure that services are appropriately coordinated and meet all regulatory and patient care standards.

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working under the direction of the Clinical Manager overseeing the coordination of the daily administrative clinical functions for hospice services while demonstrating ethical and professional conduct.
  • Monitors quality components of hospice services, for example, note completion, schedules, visit frequencies, complaint tracking, etc..
  • Participates in regular data collection and reporting as directed by the Clinical Manager.
  • Participates in recruitment, retention, and training of IDG members. 
  • Responsible for working in collaboration with the Clinical Manager on on-call schedules, weekend schedules, and per diem staffing.
  • Appropriately documents clinical and administrative work.
  • Monitors documentation of incidents and medication errors and reports to Hospice leadership.
  • Ensures the use of utmost of care in protecting the confidentiality of client records under State and Federal laws
  • Ensures compliance with all hospice protocols. Presents changes, improvements, or additions to protocols or procedures to the Hospice Clinical Manager.
  • Performs all other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or its equivalency
  • Two years of hospice or home health experience as an LPN
  • License Practical Nurse or related field preferred
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Must possess good communication skills, written and verbal, and the ability to work well with a variety of people
  • Ability to relate well to patients, families, co-workers, and physicians
