Junior Accountant – Make Your Numbers Count 

This is an in-office position- no remote opportunities

Full-Time | On-SitePay: $26–$28/hour, based on experience

Dependable Health Services is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Junior Accountant to join our accounting team at our Tucson office.

This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and supporting a busy healthcare organization. You'll work closely with our Senior Accountant and assist with accounting, reconciliations, payroll preparation, and insurance eligibility verification.

What You'll Do

• Assist with monthly journal entries and account reconciliations

• Reconcile accounts including prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other general ledger accounts

• Prepare and enter accurate journal entries

• Assist with maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP

• Verify patient insurance eligibility bi-weekly through health plan portals

• Work with our outsourced payroll company to prepare weekly payroll data for nurses and caregivers

• Extract payroll information from our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

• Organize and format payroll data using Microsoft Excel

• Research and resolve discrepancies as needed

• Support the Senior Accountant with additional accounting and financial projects

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Experience with journal entries and account reconciliations

• Understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

• Comfortable learning new systems and working with financial and healthcare data

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
