Direct Care Worker (DCW) Trainer – CNA Required

Dependable Health Services is seeking an experienced, dependable, and engaging Direct Care Worker (DCW) Trainer to join our Tucson team.

This position is responsible for training and preparing Direct Care Workers to provide safe, compassionate, and quality care to clients in their homes. The DCW Trainer will provide classroom and hands-on instruction, conduct skills testing and competency evaluations, maintain accurate training records, and help ensure caregivers meet company and program requirements before providing care.

Candidates must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Arizona.

What You'll Do

• Conduct new-hire Direct Care Worker training and orientation

• Provide classroom and hands-on instruction on required DCW skills

• Demonstrate proper techniques for personal care, transfers, mobility, infection control, safety, and other activities of daily living

• Conduct skills demonstrations, return demonstrations, testing, and competency evaluations

• Provide CPR/First Aid or other training when appropriately certified

• Evaluate caregiver understanding and readiness to safely provide services

• Provide additional coaching or retraining when needed

• Maintain accurate records of training, testing, competencies, and certifications

• Track required training and assist with ensuring employee credentials remain current

• Work closely with DCW Coordinators, clinical staff, onboarding, and other team members

• Assist with orientation and onboarding of new Direct Care Workers

• Help ensure training practices remain consistent with company policies and applicable program requirements

• Create a welcoming and supportive learning environment for new and existing caregivers

What We're Looking For

• Current Arizona CNA certification – REQUIRED

• Previous experience working as a CNA, DCW, caregiver, or in home care

• Previous training, teaching, preceptor, or staff-development experience preferred

• Strong knowledge of personal care, infection prevention, patient safety, transfers, and activities of daily living

• Comfortable demonstrating and evaluating hands-on caregiving skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Patient and encouraging when working with individuals with different levels of experience

• Strong organizational and documentation skills

• Dependable and able to manage training schedules and deadlines

• Experience with ALTCS, DDD, home care, or Direct Care Worker programs is a plus
